So lets start with a color lesson today. If you mix yellow with blue you make green. The important thing about making green is that you only add a dab of blue to the yellow, only a little bit, because if you add too much you are just going to have a slightly ligther blue, and that's not what we want.
Its so interesting to analyze Christian faith and the concept of holiness. I see this a lot in churches when we talk about sinners and sin. We say things like "they" are sinners and self justify thinking that we, church goers, are no longer sinners. I do acknowledge that we strive to not commit sins but that does not mean we aren't in FACT still sinners. Its in our nature as fallen people. Although we are justify by Christ we are still sinners, we are still fallen. Its hard sometime to acknowledge that, but even Paul, PAUL, the man that wrote a huge chunk of the New Testament still struggle with sin, he said he wanted God to take something away from him and didn't he say in Roman 7:15 "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." (NIV). Our sinful nature never leaves us and the moment we think we are sinless and justified is the day Jesus sacrifice is no longer real or necessary in our lives.
This is the best way I can explain why we need Jesus at all time. So in the beginning we were all green in Gods eye. Then we ate the fruit and our divinity, our pure breath of God, our perfect communication with God left and we became blue in Gods eye. No matter what man does they cant become green again. We are eternally blue, we, by ourselves, can't change things. However God loves us so much that he wants us to become green again, but since we gave it away he respects us so he doesn't overturn our bad decision but he gives us a choice. He gives us an option, Jesus. Jesus acts like a yellow filter for us, it is our decision to step behind him. Once we make that decision we are now PERCEIVED as green. God sees us green because of the Jesus yellow filter but the FACT is that we are still blue. Our nature has not change. We are still fallen! The moment we think we are green by ourself, that our actions and devotion to God make us green is the moment the yellow filter of Jesus leaves, and we become blue once again. Without Jesus standing in front of us we are all just blue people always falling short.
Never think you can reach salvation alone. Your actions, intentions, devotion or efforts are useless if you don't have Jesus, our lawyer and yellow filter in front. Salvation is through him. I also mentioned when making green paint all u need is a dab of blue and a whole bunch of yellow. Forget about your needs and your desire, let those go and ask God to overwhelm you with his joy, love and grace. Don't try a lot of you and a little Jesus, you will never reach the perfect shade of green that way.
"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
Very beautiful. God bless u. :)
